Group of two covering three imaging centers near Orlando and Tampa recently lost a long-time associate to retirement and urgently need a fellowship-trained cross-sectional imager to replace him. This is an on-site position and is not one that a teleradiologist could be considered. There is a lot of cross-sectional imaging their work mix offers but the centers also do a fair amount of breast imaging and procedures. They could be more lenient on MSK abilities than they could women’s imaging. In addition to CS imaging expertise they need someone comfortable with at least diagnostic breast proficiency and ideally someone that is comfortable with breast and thyroid biopsies. They also do some arthrograms and aspirations, but overall it’s mainly a well-rounded mix of MR, CT, US, and plain films along with the mammo and CS imaging emphasis. They do fair amount of neuro imaging but you can expect close to if not more than 50% of your clinical time reading cross-sectional studies.
Between the three centers they’re doing a little more than 300 exams per day. How it is being covered now is with the aide of a teleradiologist that they will continue to use for vacations once an on-site person comes on board. This is a very stable group and practice that has been together for nearly three decades. They’d most like to find a personable radiologist that enoys interacting with referring physicians and patients that is looking for a long-term opportunity. These two radiologists get along extremely well and have complemented each other both from a personality and clinical perspective for more than 2 1/2 decades now. This practice is located in a very desirable part of Florida close to Tampa and Orlando allowing you to take advantage of amenities galore. So, in addition to being inland relatively out of harm’s way you have easy access to not only both coasts, but basically the whole state. They may consider the right part-time radiologist that still wants to practice but needs more than the 7-8 weeks off that they take. But they need to have at least 30-35 annual weeks out of a part-timer to make it all work.
Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm, no call, no nights and no weekends. Competitive starting compensation along with a nice package of benefits and equitable income after just a year. Call or forward your CV to gatewaydocs@earthlinbk.net for more information.
